Reactivity dog training is a specialized form of training designed to address and modify reactive behaviours in dogs. Reactivity refers to a dog's exaggerated response or overreaction to certain stimuli, such as other dogs, strangers, or specific environmental triggers. The training focuses on helping dogs remain calm and composed in the presence of these triggers, rather than displaying fear, aggression, or excessive excitement. Trainers use positive reinforcement techniques and desensitization exercises to gradually expose dogs to their triggers in controlled environments, teaching them alternative behaviours and building their confidence. The goal of reactivity dog training is to improve a dog's emotional well-being, enhance their social skills, and ultimately create a more relaxed and enjoyable experience for both the dog and their owner.
